Meet Lollie!

Remarkable’s goldendoodle therapy dog.

About Me:

Hi! My name is Lolli, and I’m a Goldendoodle. That means I’m a mix of a Golden Retriever and a Poodle, which gives me a lot of fluffy, curly fur and a big heart for people! I’m all grown up now, but I started training to be a therapy dog the very first day my mom brought me home. I’m very smart, especially when treats are involved, and I love learning new tricks!

My Training:

My mom spent a lot of time learning about training before she got me, and she even had the whole summer off to focus on teaching me. When I started my training, I learned lots of skills that would help me be a good therapy dog. When I was old enough, I took an advanced course that helped me get ready for the Canine Good Citizen test, which I passed with flying colors! After that, I took a special therapy dog class where my mom and I learned everything we needed to know about therapy work. To officially become a therapy dog, I also had to pass a three-part test through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. My mom and I worked hard to make sure I was ready, and I’m so proud to be certified to help people!

Off the Clock:

When I’m not working, I love to play fetch.  It’s one of my favorite things ever! I have a special ball that I found at the park and bring it with me everywhere my mom lets me. I also love going on walks, visiting family and friends, and going on adventures. Meeting new people and exploring new places is so much fun!

My Job at Remarkable:

When I come to Remarkable, my main job is to make people happy. My fluffy self and friendly personality help brighten people’s day. I love to greet everyone, and they love giving me pets. Just a few minutes with me can help people feel a little more relaxed. Studies even show that spending time with therapy dogs like me can lower blood pressure!

When I get to work, the first thing I do is say hi to everyone in the office and lunch room. I love greeting all the people who work at Lakeside! After that, I take a nap in my mom’s office while she works. During the day, I also get to meet associates on their breaks and go on walks through day services. My favorite thing to do at work is to show off my tricks at Animal Encounters!

What Makes Me Happy About My Job:

The best part of my job is connecting with people. When I’m not there, people ask my mom where I am or how I’m doing. I get so excited when I get to go to work! As soon as my mom asks if I want to go, I follow her everywhere until we leave! I love getting pets and attention, and I’m happiest when I’m helping others feel good.

What We’ve Learned Together:

Working with my mom has taught her a lot about patience. We have both learned that when you put in the work, you get to see amazing results. I love to please her, and she says I have the best personality for this kind of work. We make a great team!
